Welcome to the Open Bible Medical Clinic
Open Bible Medical Clinic (OBMC) is a Christian based non-profit organization that exists to provide free medical care and access for acute and chronic illnesses to the working, uninsured, low income, adults in El Paso County.
We see adult patients whose income is equal to or less than 200% of the federal government poverty level guidelines. Click here for eligibility guidelines.
Currently the clinic operates on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-9:30 pm at 824 S. Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Co 80910. (Just north of Fountain & Union on the west side of the street) The clinic operating space and utilities are provided by Open Bible Baptist Church and includes, three exam rooms, a pharmaceutical dispensary, a patient waiting room, a patient consultation room, and an administrative office. To make an appointment click here.
The Clinic is operated by an all volunteer staff of physicians, pharmacist’s, P.A.’s, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical technicians, and behavior health clinicians. We also have a large volunteer non-medical staff that work in administration, patient reception, patient eligibility, pharmacy assistance program, resource and community access, and prayer. It takes 15 volunteers to operate the clinic each evening, and we ask that our volunteers only work for four hours one evening per month. We provide all of the training and assistance you need, to find out more about volunteering click here.
Open Bible Medical Clinic operates solely on private donations and grants. We work very hard to insure that every dollar has a direct impact on the patients in our community. The building and utilities are donated, our staff consists of volunteers, many of our medical supplies are donated, and although we purchase our pharmaceuticals at a reduced rate the cost is still great.
In addition to our wonderful volunteers we have partnered with many other great organizations within the community as this truly is an issue that impacts all of us. To see a list of our partnerships or to find out how your organization can help click here.
Work on the clinic began in 2002 and it has been operationally treating patients since May of 2005. In a very short time we will be adding a second night of treating patients that will take place during the same hours on Thursdays, and we will expand treatment to include dental education, cleanings, and extractions.
